Radiant Heat Remodel

Driveway before the demolition started

Demolition was interesting to watch. They now use a jack hammer attached to a bob cat that get the job done in a matter of minutes. Than they take the jake hammer off and use the claw like scoop and haul the huge pieces of cement down the long driveway and put into the dumpster.

Devin is a funny kid. He moves slower than a turtle but is very good at what he does. His father and brother work together. They are just good ole country folks that start there day at 2:00. At least that has been my experience. Both his father and he talk very slow and move just as fast. They love to talk about farming so of course once I started talking about our farming in Burlington that was opening up a lot of wasted time. The are wonderful people, but need to be prodded a little to get work done.

There will be 3 boilers that will control the heat. We will be able to turn the units off and on when it is snowing

Workers are installing the radiant heat coils. The lay a barrier blanket down first followed by heavy wire than lay the heavy tubing down that is than tired down with zip cords.

This is the completed look after the radiant heat is put down just before the 1st pour is to take place. Due to the fact our driveway is so far back they are having to pump the concrete with huge tubes to the back of the driveway.

After the pumping began they are smoothing out the concrete.

Watching them pump the concrete was rather interesting because as you can see it looks like the are wrestling a huge anaconda snake.

First additive added before the first stamp

takes place.

The first stamping starts with placing down several plyable pieces of rubber than look like slate that is followed by a heavier stamp than looks like bricks. He than hand yes I said had inprints all the lines. Mind you we have a huge driveway that he will be doing this all the way down.

First step before the rest of the 4 colors are added than sealed.

Soccer Time

Our little Ava gets into the action. As long has she has her snacks she is good to go. Well she does get out and likes to play with the water jug and of course the orange wedges for the soccer kids. What a doll she is.
The kids are so fun to watch. They are like little ants running all around the field. I just laugh through the whole game. As Clay talks to Jaxon about where to watch for the ball, Jaxon decides he really does not want to get hit with the ball and just observes. They are so cute.

As Colin plays in the goal net Clay talks with the kids. He is a great Dad and coach.

Coach Clay is trying to "herd" the kids together to get ready for the kick off.

Soccer time has come for the grand kids. Saturdays are filled with kids in the park. Clay is the soccer coach for his kids. Colin and Jaxon are good little players.

My mom

While my mother was here last month I had a humming bird fly into my garage. My mother told me if I got a ladder and cupped my hands it would allow me to catch it. Sure enough it did, however, when I placed it outside it flew into a bush and did not fly. My mom quickly went over and comforted the humming bird until it got its barrings straight and finally flew away.

My mother came to visit and stopped by to play with the grand kids. They have decided to call her grandma GG. There are so many grandma's the kids get confused. They always ask if grandma GG is coming. Thanks mom for spending time with them.

Our first family week at Lake Powell

The day before we had to leave we did smores and they were awsome. Thanks everyone for a wonderful time. We love spending family time with each and every one of us. Until next year at Powell you can look for season 2 for more fun and laughs. Love you guys.

If this is not the life than I must be in the wrong dream. Don't you wish we were back???? Next season for sure!!!!!!!!!!! You all are one hot bunch.

Just in time for some food to end the day. Thanks for all your help guys.

All in a days work a little cards to test ones "patience." Who do you think WON????

My sister in law is one awesome lady. I love her so much. She is so great to be around. You are one great lady.

Hang in there Erin you are looking mighty fine. Just remember to point your toes. You go girl!!!!!
Austin and Colin you are amazing young men. Thanks for a great time. I loved having Austin some on the boat he is a true delite. Collin you are always great to have around. Keep up the looks guys.

Now a movie star is born. If this is not picture perfect I do not know what is. Grandma found these glasses and just happens that her swimming suit matched. Grandma and Grandpa love our little Ava sooooooooooo much.

Grandma Cris just hanging out on the upper deck playing cards with Colin and Jaxon. The loves of my life are my grand kids and family. You are special to me boys.

We have the most beautiful daughter in laws in the world. Terry and I could not of asked for any one better for our sons. Thanks to each one of you for making our family so happy and complete. You are our daughters

Sharon and Rachael are enjoying some time together. Rachael you are a gift to us. Thanks for the times we have together and with the grand kids. You are special to us.

Alex and Kelly are the "country folks" at Lake Powell. They are so great together. We love you Kelly so much. Thanks for being a wonderful wife to our son. We love spending time with you both. You guys are HOT!!!!!!!!!!

Brandons wife Sharon is a cutie. We love her to death. We are so blessed to have her in our lifes. Only one thing this was to be a "no makeup" trip. She always looks great. Love ya girl!!!!

Our handsome son Brandon taking in the rays. Looking good.

Not the best picture of the boat but sure was fun to have the family down.

Our handsome cousin Collin finds some time to get some ZZZZZZ's next to his uncle Clay and son Jaxon. Get some while you can for tomorrow will be another day of fun!!!!

Even grandpa needs his shut eye. I have to admit he needs some R & R.

Now this is a site for sore eyes. Talk about close quarters. The grand kids went to bed and I think everyone else was there also or at least about there. I love to have my family around me. I love you guys.

Colin loved hanging out with his new friend Austin. Terry's sister Jill who I dearly love brought her 2 kids down Erin and Colin. Austin was a little under the weather after being tossed around like a rag doll on the inner tube. So Colin decided to sit by him. What a cutie you are Erin.

After a day in the sun everyone is ready to get into a heavy game of Wii. The grand kids loved having there cousin Collin to play with.

As grandpa Terry looks on you can see the joy he gets to finally have a day off. Well deserved for sure.

Clay and his little girl Ava are enjoying the warm waters. Don't you wish life was this grand for us all.

Grandma spent many hours buying every kids of life vest for the grand kids. My main worry was with our little Ava. They make these vests so uncomfortable for little ones. While she was finally happy with this one we never let her out of our sites. She loves the water and as you can see our little angel. Grandma and grandpa love her to pieces.

Clay loves to spend time with his 2 sons Jaxon and Colin. Do they not look like there daddy. They are so special to us.

You will not believe this but this is Jaxon all alone on the wake board. Clay was holding on to him but the waves were hitting him so hard in the face while he was trying to hang onto Jaxon that he finally had to let go. Next thing we know Grandpa was pulling him and he was just acting like he knew what he was doing. We could not believe it. Way to go Jaxon!!!!!!!

Colins favorite time is going out on the jet ski. He is one sharp kid with his shades on. He rides in front with one of the adults behind him and he gets to use the throttle to make the jet ski go fast.

As the days are getting hotter the boys decided to take the grand kids tubs and Clay decided that he would see if he could get through the tiny hole in the middle. We are thought he was nuts. Clay went up top and while Alex held the tube just right Clay slid down the slide and as you can see made it right through the middle. We were laughing so hard. I still can not believe he was able to get his body through this.

Our speed boat broke down and thank god we had 2 wave runners that have enough power to get my boys up. The wave runners are a 3 seater. All the boys were learning to wake board this year. Clay looks like he is up and having fun.

Jet skiing is every ones love. Terry loves to just take off the enjoy himself. He has decided this is the way of life and I have to admit I agree. I love him so much.

Today at craft time grandma, Colin and Jaxon took time to set up for our next project. We always went to the upper deck and did our projects and listened to music.

I love spending time with the grand kids. So I had planned a craft day each day for the kids. Today we were making crazy hats and shirts. There cute cousin Erin decorated there hats for them putting there names on them. Colin and Jaxon enjoyed squirting puffy paint to make there own unique masterpiece.

The upper deck has a dry bar and a surround sound music system. Yes we got a lot of use out of this and played it every waking hour. While the sun bathing and getting caught up on reading took place here so did the fishing off the top deck.

The inside of the houseboat is very plush but has plenty of room to navigate around. It has 4 state rooms and can sleep as many as 30 people up top if you want to swat away all the bugs. We used the washer and dryer every day. We could stay here for a long time and just enjoy the boat and scenery.

We just got a new houseboat this year. We share this with 4 other family's. The boat is 80 feet by 24 feet. Terry and I love Lake Powell and we wanted to have somewhere we can take the family to enjoy. The boats name is Kahala Kai. It is a dream come true for Terry and I. After Terry decided to open a veterinary hospital 5 years ago we had to sell our other houseboat to make the hospital happen. Terry always said that one day he wanted to own another houseboat and after a lot of hard work he was able to make his dream come true. We love sharing our time with our family and friends. I love Terry so much he deserves to have his dreams come true and see the family come together and enjoy one another is all I ever ask for. This boat will always have memories for all our kids and grand kids to talk about.
